Biography of WWE Diva Trish Stratus

Trish Stratus is a famous legendry professional wrestler of World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE), fitness model and Television Personality. She is the only women wrestler of WWE to won the WWE Women Champion title for seven times. She was born on 18 December, 1975 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. She was named Patricia Anne Stratigias by her parents John and Alice Stratigias but she began to use name Trish Stratus after joining WWE/WWF in 2000. She is the eldest sister of her two sisters Christie and Melissa. Trish completed her high school study from Bayview Secondary School, Ontario, Canada before joining the York University. She began to work as Receptionist in a local gym, apart from studying Biology and Kinesiology in university.

Trish began her career as fitness model by signing a two year contract with MuscleMag Magazine. After working on her body for six months she appeared on the cover of the MuscleMag magazine for the first time in May, 1998 edition. Then she often began to appear on other magazine’s covers such as Natural Muscle Magazine, Oxygen, Winter, Sole etc. Her poses on the different magazine covers insisted the World Wrestling Federation (now World Wrestling Entertainment) to approach her to join WWF.

Trish Stratus made her debut on WWF in March 2000 from the episode of ‘Sunday Night Heat’ using her name as Trish Stratus instead of Patricia Anne Stratigias. She was introduced as the manager of the tag team T & A (i.e. Test & Albert). On 20th of June, 2000 she appeared in the ring to debut as a wrestler. In her debut match Trish along with T&A beat Lita and Hardy Boyz in tag team match. Trish’s first major win was when she beat Stacy Keibler and Torrie Wilson in Bra and Panties tag team match with Lita in Invasion held on 22nd July,2001. After that match she was caught with an injury in her ankle which kept her away from the ring for three months but she began to co-host a chat show Excess which was aired on TNN.

After the healing of her injury she was in the ring to play the matches of Survivor Series (2001) in November, 2001.Trish not only just appeared in Survivor Series but also won the WWF Women’s Championship by defeating Lita, Jacqueline, Mighty Molly, Jazz, and Ivory in six-pack challenge. Trish lost Women Championship to Jazz in a challenging match held on 4 February, 2002. Trish won the WWE Hardcore Championship on 6 May, 2002; but she was not able to maintain the Title and lost the belt to Steven Richards within few minutes of winning the title. Trish beat Jazz in a Tag team match with Bubba Ray Dudley to regain the title of WWF Women Champion on 13 May, 2002 and became the Women Champion for the second time. After becoming the champion for the second time Trish was absorbed by the Raw Brand in WWF Brand Extensions.

Trish was able to maintain her second title of WWF Women Champion for just 41 days before she was defeated by Molly Holly (Nora Greenwald) at King of the Ring on 23 June, 2002. Within three months Trish regained the Women Champion title from Molly Holly by defeating her in the fight of less than six minutes in the singles match at Unforgiven (2002). Trish became the WWF Women Champion for the third time and for second time in a single year. Once again she was not able to retain the title for long and lost it to Victoria in the Hardcore match of the Survivor Series of 2002.
Stratus won the Women title for the fourth time on 30 June, 2003 by defeating Victoria and Jazz in the Triple Treat match at WrestleMania XIX. On April 27, 2003 she lost the title to Jazz in the single match at Backlash (2003). Tag team of Trish and Lita beat Molly Holly and Gail Kim in the Tag team match at Unforgiven (2003).

In the tough competition of the Fatal Four-Way match at Bad Blood (2004) Trish (along with Tyson Tomko) beat Victoria, Gail Kim and Lita to become the WWE Women Champion for the fifth time. She broke the record of Mary Lillian Ellison (Fabulous Moolah) of being four time Women Champion. Trish remained out of action for couple of months after winning the championship for the fifth time due to an injury on her hand. She was back to the ring in September and played many safe games to retain the title of Women Champion of WWE. She remained unsuccessful in the main event of Raw to defend the title where she lost a match along with title to a Lita on December 6, 2004.

Trish regained the title a month later in New Year’s Revolution (2005) on January 9, where she beat Lita in the Singles Match. Trish was very keen to regain the title as she had defeated Lita in a fight of just 3 minutes and 46 seconds. Trish defended the title in WrestleMania XXI (2005) by defeating Christy Hemme in Single match. Trish remained successful in her matches in 2005 to defend the title.

After retaining the Women Champion title for more than a year, she lost the title to Mickie James in a singles match at WrestleMania XXII on April 2, 2006. Trish in an unsuccessful attempt to regain the title from James at Backlash (2006) injured her shoulder and remained inactive for a month. She returned to the ring on June 26 with her new onscreen boyfriend Carlito (Carly Colon). Trish and Carlito beat Melina Perez and Johnny Nitro in the tag team match at the main event of Saturday Night on 15 July.

Trish after taking the decision to Mary her childhood boy friend Ron Fisico on September 30, 2006 decided to retire from Wrestling after the Unforgiven (2006). Trish played her last match on September 17, 2006 against Lita for the WWE Women Champion title at Unforgiven (2006). She won the title of WWE Women Champion for seventh time in last match of her career by beating Lita in singles match.

Trish set such great records in her small wrestling career of just six years. She is the only women to hold WWE Women Champion title for most of the time (seven times). She is one of the four women wrestlers to win the WWE Hardcore Championship. She was awarded with the title ‘Diva of the Decade’ at WWE RAW X Anniversary Show. She was awarded with title ‘WWE Babe of the Year’ for three times from 2001 to 2003.

Trish began to live happy couple life after getting married to her childhood love Ron Fisico on September 30, 2006. Trish’s Bridal dress was featured on Today’s Bride magazine. After her marriage she kept her away from wrestling but not from television. She appeared in the reality show Armed & Famous in January, 2007. She appeared as host in the show ‘The Second City’s Next Comedy Legend’. She started her own Yoga Studio in Canada named as Stratusphere.

After the period of four years Trish Stratus returned to WWE in February, 2011 at Elimination Chamber. She began second innings at WWE as the trainer of WWE Tough Enough.
